Rose Garden

I am currently loving this floral kimono! I never got into the kimono trend last year because I couldn't find one that I really liked. But when this lightweight, rose-print number caught my eye a few weeks ago, I knew I had found a winner.

It's so important to realize that you don't have to be wearing the most current or trendy piece to feel stylish. Fashion and style is all about self-expression--how you dress reflects how you feel about yourself. So don't feel obligated to copy what you see all over social media. Instead, take inspiration from the colors, silhouettes, and prints that resonate with your personal style and make them your own. That's my style philosophy.

Back to this kimono--whether it's still considered "on-trend" or not this spring, I've worn it 3 or 4 times in just the past few weeks, each time styled differently. This has been my favorite combo--it's the perfect mix of glam and girly with the all black, faux leather pants, and pink accents.

When we were shooting this look, we had initially scoped out some other locations. When those didn't work out as planned, I was pretty discouraged and almost turned around and went home. But we kept walking a little further, and when we turned the corner, we stumbled upon this space that reminded me of a secret garden--perfect for my rose printed ensemble!

Thought of the day: I am a firm believer in the idea that everything happens for a reason. Sometimes it's so hard to find that reason, but in the end, we all end up exactly where we are supposed to be. Just like this photoshoot!
