ROMAN HOLIDAY

Italy Day 1

Target Blouse, Hat, and Sandals, White House Black Market Pants and Purse, Tory Burch Sunglasses

My trip to Italy was one I will never forget, and I have been waiting to share it with you since the minute we got there! I know I have been MIA for a while now, so quick update if you don't follow me on Instagram: I graduated business school in May, jetted off to Italy for a week, moved back to California, and started working full time a couple weeks ago! The last few months have been crazy, and I am so excited to finally sit down and dedicate some much-needed time to the blog. So, on to the fun stuff: our Italian getaway!

I never imagined I would have the chance to do a photo shoot at the Colosseum! These photos were taken during our walking tour of Rome right in the middle of this epic historic landmark. On our first day of Rome, we did a full 8-hour walking tour of the entire city (These gladiator sandals were a good choice for all that walking!) We got a detailed snapshot of the history of the city, how it has changed over time, and how it continues to be maintained. It was incredible because every corner we turned, there was some historical significance!

The highlights of our first day?

  • Eating fresh Margherita pizza with a stunning view of the Colosseum
  • Taking a break with creamy gelato right in front of the Pantheon
  • Dreaming of shopping until we dropped on the Spanish Steps

To make sure we got the most out of our international vacation, Aamir and I made it a point to really plan ahead of time in terms of activities, restaurants, and outfits for photos. We researched restaurants and tourist activities and had everything booked ahead of time so that we could start enjoying the minute we arrived! We had been saving up points through our Chase Sapphire Reserve card and used them to book all of our activities and transportation while in Italy! They offered some great options including walking tours, early start tours, car services, that we definitely took advantage of. But, we did want to explore while there as well, so we left a couple days and afternoons open to just start walking and discovering the Eternal City.

Stay tuned for more on our trip to Italy! See Day 2 (and my favorite outfit) here!
