Moving to Chicago has been one of those things that I've talked about and had marked in my calendar for months. I've been looking forward to it for so long, and now that I'm officially here, it's a little surreal. For the first few days it felt like I was on vacation--as if my stay was temporary, and I'd be back home to sunny California in no time. But, now that I've been here over a month, started grad school, and updated my shipping address on Target.com (that's when you know it's legit), it finally feels real.

To say it's been big change from living in Moorpark and Orange County would be an understatement. I've never relied solely on public transportation or just walking to get anywhere. Since I don't need a car right now, it's been a bit of an adventure to figure out groceries, shopping, and visiting friends. It requires so much more time and planning than just hopping into my car and getting on the road. It has its perks too though; I don't have to worry about being tired while driving or the absolute horror of the 405 at 5pm anymore. On another note, I have become somewhat addicted to the convenience of online shopping. Hello, Amazon Prime.

Aside from focusing on school, exploring my new city has been one of my top priorities. This past weekend, A and I went to a concert at Millennium Park. I wore this comfy all white outfit with some neutral details like my favorite open toe booties and this oversized tote. This bag was perfect for carrying a jacket (they don't call Chicago the Windy City for no reason!), our camera, and some snacks for the concert. This lightweight sweater is a great transitional piece as we start to get into Fall, too. Guys, I actually get to experience all four seasons here, unlike SoCal!! Walking around the city together, taking pictures, and catching up on our busy week was the perfect way to end a Sunday.
